High Hardness Retained in
Elevated Temperatures

The effect of exposure to elevated temperatures for a single pass SHS 9700 weld overlay can be seen in this figure. As indicated by the temper curves, SHS 9700 retains hardness
above 61 HRc through 1,000°F.

The SHS 9192 and SHS 9700 temper curves were produced from two hour soaks at temperature with single pass weld beads.
