Highly Refined Microstructure Resists Abrasion and Erosion
SEM backscattered electron micrographs taken at higher magnifications contrast the large scale 65% angular and 60% spherical tungsten carbide particles in a matrix in conventional PTAW materials with the highly refined microstructure of SHS 9192 PTAW.
The highly refined (sub micron) structure of
SHS 9290 PTAW makes weld overlay deposits much more resistant to fine particle abrasion and erosion since the scale of the microstructure is finer than typical wear debris/particles. |
