Open Arc Welding (OAW) Process
Open Arc Welding (OAW) is a semiautomatic or automatic welding process in which a continuous consumable wire electrode are fed through a welding torch. An electric arc transferred between the wire electrode and substrate melts the wire. The molten weld pool is protected by oxidizing and scavenging agents contained in the wire electrode and forms a fully dense and metallurgically bonded weld overlay.
