Guardian® HB has been engineered to have similar expansion characteristics as base tool joint steel. This enables both materials to flow without developing high residual stress or visible cracking.
As compared to conventional hardbanding materials, Guardian® HB does not sacrifice either hardness or toughness to achieve these properties. NanoSteel has
designed an alloy with its patented nanotechnology that
maintains high performance of both properties.
