Sentry™ 8000 LPA Screens

SCR Catalyst Protection

NanoSteel’s Sentry™ 8000 LPA Screens maintain geometry longer and prevent large particle ash build up from causing expensive damage to catalyst layers and the SCR reactor.

Sentry™ 8000 LPA Screens feature NanoSteel’s patented SHS 8000 TWAS thermal spray coating which has successfully protected boiler tubes and dry scrubber components from erosion and corrosion.

Superior Erosion Resistance
In laboratory and field trials, NanoSteel SHS 8000 thermal spray coatings consistently outperform competing conventional steel coatings and untreated carbon steel.

High Bond Strength
In ASTM C633-01 testing, SHS 8000 coatings maintain a bond on carbon steel of up to 11,400 psi without failure.

High Toughness
SHS 8000 coatings provide high toughness at high temperature allowing the coating to deform with the substrate upon impact without chipping, cracking or delaminating.

Exceptional Erosion Resistance in Coal Fired Boiler
In a coal fired boiler unit in the Midwest, a Sentry™ 8000 LPA Screen, perforated round pattern design, was installed adjacent to untreated LPA screens of identical design.

After 12 months, severe erosion has increased the size of the round screen openings of the untreated screens, resulting in a decrease in the ability to stop LPA from entering the SCR.

The NanoSteel thermal spray coating on the Sentry™ 8000 LPA Screen has provided exceptional erosion resistance and maintained the geometry of the round screen openings.
  Field Trial Screen Comparison
After 12 months of equal service, NanoSteel has maintained geometry
