Cored Wire for Weld Overlay

Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Open Arc Welding (OAW)

NanoSteel cored wires for weld overlay applications are patented steel alloys based on nanotechnology which form a microstructure with grain sizes refined to a near nanoscale (≤ 400 nm).

The near nanoscale microstructure provides a unique combination of high hardness and toughness properties, resulting in
• High to extreme wear resistance
• Moderate to high impact and corrosion resistance
• Superior strength performance over conventional steels
• Uniform hard matrix with maximum hardness consistent throughout the entire weld layer
• Better price/performance ratio since less material is required to exceed conventional alloy performance

SHS 9192 is NanoSteel's best performing cored wire for resisting abrasion in extreme service environments.
 
Provides better price/performance ratio as alterative to tungsten carbides by developing wear resistance and maximum hardness in one pass. Tungsten carbides typically require two or more passes to generate best wear resistance.
